Come join our blossoming A TREE WITH ROOTS community as we explore the Haggadah together. Pesach calls for more preparation than any other holiday: not just cleaning and cooking, but preparing our hearts for its promise of freedom.
The 4th of the Four Questions is the one that raises the most questions itself: What is all this business about “reclining” at the Seder? Why are the other 3 Questions associated with food — but this one is different? What is the specific meaning of “reclining”? How come the Haggadah doesn’t address the answer to this question? How did this become a controversial flashpoint of the seder? And what does it have to do with the broader fundamental theme of liberation in the Haggadah?
All are welcome for a spirited deep-dive into Jewish sources ancient and modern, as we prepare once again to meditate on and celebrate the movement from confinement to freedom.
