Neal will be teaching two online classes from Netanya, Israel in January 2026, with two ways to join remotely:
(1) SHIRAT MIRIAM / MIRIAM’S SONG
Thursday, January 29, 2026 | 16:00 Israel time / 9:00 AM Eastern US time
Kehillat Natan-Ya in Netanya or Online via Zoom
Our first class this week will explore the Song of Miriam from Exodus 15. We’ll look at its place in the Torah text, and we’ll explore its meanings through the lens of midrash and commentaries ancient and modern — with an eye for its message of historical hope, strength, and unity, especially during difficult times for the community.
This class will be in-person at Kehillat Natan-Ya in Netanya, and simultaneously online via Zoom. Register for the Zoom link here:
(2) TO BE “EXPERIENCED IN MIRACLES” [מְלוּמָד בְּנִסִים]
Friday, January 30, 2026 | 16:00 Israel time / 9:00 AM Eastern US time
Kehillat Natan-Ya in Netanya or LIVE ON FACEBOOK
Neal will be ushering in Shabbat with the wonderful Natan-Ya community, and friends around the world are invited to join us. In anticipation of the SONG OF THE SEA (Exodus 15, from the weekly Torah portion), we’ll discuss a remarkable phrase from the Talmud and Midrash, which describes certain women and men who are “experienced in miracles” / מְלוּמְדֵי בְּנִסִים. It’s a marvelous term that captures a profound way of navigating the world with perseverance and gratitude.
It should be a great segue into SHABBAT SHIRAH, and the class will be immediately followed by Shabbat services with Rabbi Edgar Nof and the Natan Ya community. This class and the Shabbat service will be in person at Kehillat Natan-Ya and streamed live on Facebook at the page of קהילת "נתן יה" Natan Ya Congregation
If you’re in Israel, by all means come and join us in Netanya. And if you’re elsewhere, join us online in the spirit of unity and friendship from around the world.
